Ukrainian Trainees from Lemberg for the first time in Baden-Württemberg

Trainees with their host families and AKI colleagues at the handover in Böblingen

On Monday, 27th April 2015, 16 trainees from Lemberg/Ukraine arrived in Baden-Württemberg to participate in a 6 month internship program at family farms, which is organized by AKI. The trainees were accompanied by Lesya Bidna, who is working at the technical school Solochewski in the region of Lemberg (in Ukraine: Lwiw). The trainee program takes place for the first time in Baden-Württemberg as a result of the cooperation agreement between AKI and the agricultural technical school Solochewski in the West Ukraine.

The program started with a two-day introductory course in Böblingen. During this course the trainees were prepared for their life in Germany and their living and working together with the host families. In addition, they were instructed by the agricultural employers' liability insurance association about accident prevention and safety at work.

Then two days later on Wednesday, 29th April, trainees were welcomed by the AKI managing board Siegfried Schwab, the AKI team and host families with coffee and cake in the AWO-Waldheim Böblingen. Subse-
quently, they were handed over to their host families.

For the vocational program AKI will be organizing special excursions and further trainee meetings, lasting several days. In the course of the internship, the trainees will be supervised and assisted by our managing director Dr. Monika Erath, project manager Veronika Pranko und project assistant Irina Fomin as well as the whole AKI-Team.
